Kristen Thomas joined BGR Group in February 2019. As Chief of Staff to the Executive Office, Kristen provides management, direction, and coordination of day-to-day operations for CEO/Chairman Bob Wood and President Erskine Wells. She supports senior leadership with strategic insight, scheduling major events, coordinating and organizing fundraisers for political candidates, as well as managing Capitol Hill and Administration outreach. She assists on a broad variety of matters with BGR’s overall principals and staff to coordinate the firm’s internal operations.
Prior to joining BGR, Kristen served as constituent services and field representative for Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10) in her district office. In this role, she managed constituent needs and liaised between constituents, federal agencies, and the Congresswoman. Kristen eventually moved to Washington, D.C., where she became Congresswoman Miller’s Executive Assistant.
Following her time with Congresswoman Miller, Kristen expanded her Capitol Hill experience when she worked for Congressman Mike Bost (IL-12) as his Executive Assistant. In this role, Kristen coordinated all priority events, meetings, and travel in both D.C. and Illinois. She also assisted with political strategy, campaign events, and managing fundraising goals.
Kristen also gained broader political experience when she left the Hill and joined WPAi, a D.C.-based polling firm. At WPAi, she supported the CEO in client engagement, media, speaking engagements, and overall office management.
She graduated from Oakland University with a B.A. in political science and a minor in history. She currently lives in northern Virginia with her family.
