Kristen Thomas joined BGR Group in February 2019. As government affairs coordinator, Kristen supports CEO Bob Wood and the health and life sciences practice team with scheduling, coordinating and organizing fundraisers for political candidates, managing Administration outreach on behalf of clients and firm members, and organizing fly-ins for clients visiting Capitol Hill.

Prior to joining BGR, Kristen served as constituent services and field representative for Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10) in her local office, where she catered to constituent needs and was a liaison between constituents, federal agencies and the Congresswoman. Kristen eventually moved to Washington, D.C., where she became Congresswoman Miller’s executive assistant. 

Following her time with Congresswoman Miller, Kristen expanded her Capitol Hill experience when she worked for Congressman Mike Bost (IL-12) as his executive assistant. In this role, Kristen coordinated all events, meetings and travel in Illinois and D.C. She also assisted in political strategy, campaign events and managing fundraising goals. 

Kristen also gained broader political experience when she left the Hill and joined WPAi, a D.C.-based polling firm. At WPAi, she supported the CEO in client engagement, media, speaking engagements and office management. 

She graduated from Oakland University with a B.A. in political science and a minor in history.
