Usman Rahim is a Policy Analyst at BGR Group, where he works on domestic and international finance policy issues and supports the BGR Financial Services Practice Group and its clients. He works daily on time-sensitive projects, regularly attends hearings on and off Capitol Hill, and conferences with industry leaders. He works closely with BGR principals and produces in-depth research on companies, public figures, legislative activity and the regulatory process in the various federal agencies. Usman also produces and distributes weekly updates directly to clients on the issues that impact them.
He joined the BGR Financial Services team in February of 2021, after working at the Department of the Treasury, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to joining BGR, Usman served as a Special Assistant for the Office of the Executive Secretary, where he coordinated with the Offices of Domestic Finance, Economic Policy, Tax Policy, Legislative Affairs, OMB, and IRS to assist the Department in timely projects, briefings, reports, and correspondence. Previously, he served as a policy associate for the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), and a staff assistant to U.S. Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC).
A native of High Point, North Carolina, Usman received his Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is fluent in Hindi/Urdu, Punjabi, Arabic and Spanish, an avid tennis player, coach, and fan. Usman received the Secretary’s Honor Award, for his tenure at Treasury.
