Maya Seiden is a veteran of the Clinton and Obama administrations. She served in senior positions at the State Department, Energy Department and the White House. Since joining BGR Group, Maya has worked to advocate for foreign countries and individuals and advise U.S. and foreign companies on business-to-business activities.

Mark Tavlarides has nearly four decades of experience working for the federal government and advocacy. He currently works for an array of foreign governments, helping them build stronger ties with the U.S. government.  Prior to BGR, he served as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the National Security Council under President Bill Clinton and served on the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Human Rights and International Organizations as the staff director.

Health and Life Sciences

Remy L. Brim, Ph.D., BGR’s Co-Head of the Health Care Practice, advocates for clients with FDA-related products and activities, helps clients navigate the complex regulatory and political landscapes required to advance the discovery, development, and delivery of innovative products to patients and consumers.  Prior to joining BGR Group, Remy served as Senior FDA Policy Advisor to the Senate HELP Committee’s Ranking Member Patty Murray (D-WA) and served under Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) as her Senior Health Policy Advisor.

Dan Farmer is Vice President of Policy Analysis and Strategy within the Health and Life Sciences Practice. Dan comes to the firm from Cleveland Clinic where he led federal advocacy efforts on the Hill and in the Obama Administration. Prior to working in the private sector, Dan worked for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation where he help launch of some of CMS’ first innovative payment models. Earlier in his career, he advised Rep. Zack Space (D-OH) through the drafting and passage of the Affordable Care Act.

Commerce

Jonathan Mantz leads BGR’s Democratic outreach and serves as Co-Chair of the Commerce, Infrastructure, and Energy, counsels clients to provide a wide range of services in government relations and public affairs.  Jonathan served as National Finance Director for then-Senator Clinton’s 2008 campaign, Deputy Executive Director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), and Finance Director of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).

Financial Services

Andy Lewin joined BGR Group focusing his work on financial services and tax issues for clients after working for eight years advocating for clients on these issues.  Prior to joining the private sector, Andy served as Legislative Director for Rep. Dennis Moore (D-KA), who was then chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, and served as Legislative Director for Rep. Max Sandlin (D-TX) where he worked on tax, trade, pensions, federal budget, and energy issues.

State Advocacy and Government Marketing

Ryan Dalton, Senior Director of State Advocacy, advises clients on a range of state and local issues with more than a decade of managing state and federal policy.  Prior to joining BGR Group, Ryan served as a senior policy advisor to and as Deputy Director of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo Washington D.C. office.
