Pfrang will work with clients in the Financial Services and Commerce spaces and will leverage his knowledge of tax, trade and health care policy issues, as well as his detailed understanding of the political environment, to drive policy results for BGR clients.
“We are thrilled to have Steve join the BGR team,” BGR Group President Erskine Wells said. “Steve’s nearly 20 years of experience in Washington, D.C., working in the public and private sector, positions him well to serve our clients and help drive successful outcomes.”
Most recently Pfrang served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Darin LaHood (R-IL), a senior Member of the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence as well as the House Select Committee on China. In his position, he was responsible for managing the Congressman’s congressional operations, including all legislative and communications activities. As the Congressman’s primary advisor, he also managed the Member’s entire political operation, including the Congressman’s National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) activities.
“Since joining Congress in 2015, Steve Pfrang has been a staple of Team LaHood as my Chief of Staff, getting our office up and running and helping us land key committee’s assignments including the Ways and Means Committee, Intel Committee and now the Select Committee on China. Steve has led our office and supported our robust legislative and political work,” said Congressman Darin LaHood. “I know he will continue to carry himself with professionalism and kindness and find much success. I am grateful for Steve’s service to our district, and the institution, serving as a Congressional staffer for 16 years. I want to congratulate Steve on this next step in his career, and I wish him and his wife Becca all the best in the next chapter of their lives.”
Prior to his time with Congressman LaHood, Pfrang served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Legislative Director to a member of the Ways & Means Committee and as a Senior Legislative Assistant to a member of the House Energy & Commerce and the Financial Services Committees.
