PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Office of the Attorney General (Ohio), State Legislature (Ohio), Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO).

Kristin Strobel joined BGR Government Affairs in January 2017. She uses her many years of state government experience to assist clients in areas as diverse as executive policy, legislative debates and regulatory issues. She will also lead outreach to multistate policy organizations such as the National Governors Association (NGA), the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) and the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) as well as political organizations state government leaders rely on to advance their priorities.
 
Before coming to BGR, Kristin served as the Director of State Government Affairs for the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) where she led lobbying strategies and coordinated industry outreach events with state decision-makers across the country. She focused on issues critical to the technology sector including STEM education, privacy, e-commerce, intellectual property and taxation.
 
Previously, Kristin served as Director of State Government Affairs at the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO), responding to legislative and regulatory developments to improve the regulatory climate for members. She also represented NAPEO at hearings, meetings and conferences as the official voice of the industry on state government affairs issues.

Prior to joining NAPEO, Kristin served as Policy Director for the Attorney General of Ohio, Mike DeWine. She testified for the office on legislative initiatives before the Ohio state legislature and collaborated with border state Attorneys Generals and their legislatures on policy initiatives. She also served as Senior Advisor on Special Taskforces and Policy Subcommittees for the Ohio Attorney General.
 
A native of Ohio, Kristin graduated from Ohio University in 2007 receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Geography. She achieved her Masters of Arts in Political Science (American Politics) in 2008. Kristin remains involved in the Washington, D.C.-based Ohio Society, the Ohio University Washington D.C. Alumni Association and with the Washington D.C. Delta Gamma Fraternity Alumnae Association, where they work directly with the National Federation of the Blind. Kristin currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Women in Government Relations (WGR)’s Tech, Telecomm & IP Taskforce, serves as an ambassador on the Youth Leaders Council (YLC), where she advises their team on state legislative policies and engagement; and was a 2016 James Madison’s Montpelier’s Robert H. Smith Center for the Constitution’s Emerging Millennial Fellow.
